What this recall covers

The defect
Isuzu Technical Center of America, Inc. (Isuzu) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Isuzu NPR and NPR HD vehicles manufactured August 26, 2013, to November 11, 2016, and 2016 Chevrolet Low Cab Forward 3500 and 4500 vehicles manufactured July 27, 2016, to November 11, 2016. The affected vehicles have a throttle pedal that may get stuck under the steel stopper bolt, causing the pedal to remain in the full throttle position. Note: In gasoline models only.
The risk
A stuck open accelerator pedal may result in very high vehicle speeds and make it difficult to stop the vehicle, which could cause a crash, serious injury or death.
The fix
Isuzu will notify owners, and dealers will remove and replace the stopper bolt with a flanged plate, to prevent lateral movement of the throttle, free of charge. The recall began November 14, 2016. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Is my car affected?

Being on this list means your year, make and model fall inside campaign 16V797000. It does not mean your individual car does: a campaign covers a range of VINs built in a specific window, and cars either side of that window are untouched.

Check the 17-character VIN from the driver-side dashboard or door jamb against NHTSA's lookup. If it is covered, the dealer must do the work free of charge, regardless of the car's age or mileage.
